Michi is responsible for the social media strategy in University Communications and manages all the central social media accounts as part of UChicago’s overall efforts to build engagement locally, nationally, and internationally. She provides guidance on digital media to communicators across campus and leads the cross-campus #UChicagoSocial group. Michi was previously associate director for digital communications at Northeastern University in Boston. She received her MA in global marketing communication and advertising from Emerson College, and her BA in communications and photography from Hiram College. When not thinking about hashtags, Michi likes to travel, exploring new cities and world cultures.
