The University of Chicago has been an affiliate of the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC) since 2005. The WRC is an independent organization that actively monitors the conditions in factories around the world that produce college and university-related apparel. Additionally, the University requires all companies with which it contracts to produce licensed products for the University to agree to follow a strict code of conduct in their factories.
